Wow wow wow it’s been a busy month but I’ve found a lot of enjoyment in a lot of small(ish) things and a couple of whoppers!
Skin/Wellness Bits
Vieve Skin Nova - I know this primer gets a lot of love, but I’m finding mixing a pump of it with my foundation gives me a hydrated lit from within glow, sheers out my foundation and a lot of compliments.
Mouthtaping - I do try not to jump on to every wellness trend but honestly I do think this does make a difference to the quality of my sleep. I use these ones.
Institut Esthederm Sun cream - beautiful on the skin, no burning, super even colour after using it in Goa and Thailand. This is worth the extra splurge.
Cooking
In small hope of trying to reduce the amount of daily kitchen cleaning we do I’ve been cooking a lot of one pot/all on one oven tray suppers. Whether that’s chicken thighs roasted with all the vegetables underneath it or a bean-y broth with everything chucked into one sauce pan. I save my home cooking insta stories as highlights if you’ve seen any you fancy re-creating.
As a dedicated condiment queen I’ve been loving some of The Sauce Shop chilli jams particularly this one below which is beyond delicious. They use only ‘real’ ingredients and it’s a local company.
Books/Audio Books
I listened on Audible to….
The Tell by Amy Griffin - about a lost memory of a childhood trauma, moving and beautifully read by the author.
The Trading Game by Gary Stevenson
In Thailand I read Nicky Haslam’s memoir - wow talk about being at some of the key moments of popular culture in the 20th century. Funny, waspy, humble(ish - he loves a namedrop) and reflective. I loved it.
Podcasts
(In)justice: Killer Privilege - a Mother’s search for justice after her son is brutally murdered by his wealthy friend
Lucky Boy - a compelling story about a 14 year old’s affair with his teacher.
Pop Apologist - a funny, light take on the current celeb gossip by two sisters - easy, smile-y listening.
Business Of Home - one for my interior geeks, this podcast interviews mainly US based interior designers, CEO's of furniture businesses and the like and reports on the economics and trends of the industry. I particularly recommend the Lulu Lytle and Beata Heuman episodes.
Watching
Sherwood - ok I am so behind here as I think was on the BBC in 2023 AND it’s set in Nottingham so I can’t believe we haven’t watched it before. Exploring the long aftermath of the miners strikes, it’s very very good, excellent cast and the social history is spot on. Going to get stuck into season 2 next.
The Valley - shout out to my fellow Bravo fans. I think this one of the best reality shows currently out there. The unraveling of Jax’s marriage, Kristen finally pregnant and the horror show that is Jesse. Already desperately awaiting episode 3.
Clothes
I hate hate hate buying clothes for special occasions, so my seventh circle of hell was being an actual bridesmaid and finding an outfit for it (just to clarify i loved BEING a bridesmaid it was just the pre-outfit stressing that killed me). I bought the below and loved it all

Bridesmaids dress (all the bridesmaids wore white). It’s extremely well cut
Shoes - comfy, teeny heel, will probably wear them all summer.
Some things on my current wish list (but not totally in budget sigh)
Mother denim jacket - so useful
Cardigan - the best under the radar quality cashmere. I have it in red but would love it in brown.
Listening to
And this one as well.
Dreaming of
A visit to Son Net in my favourite part of Mallorca (which we do have booked!)
I went to the most sublime wellness spa in Thailand at the start of the month and all I can thing about is how/when/what I need to sell so I can go back.
Lots of love Jodie xxx
